SpongeBob SquarePants, the protagonist of the series, is an optimistic and energetic fry cook at the Krusty Krab restaurant. His best friend, Patrick Star, is a dim-witted but lovable starfish. Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's grumpy neighbor, is a sarcastic and cynical cashier at the Krusty Krab. These characters, along with many others, have become beloved icons that transcend generations.

SpongeBob SquarePants premiered on Nickelodeon in July 1999 and quickly became a ratings juggernaut. The series has won numerous awards, including four Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. It has also been translated into more than 55 languages and broadcast in over 170 countries, making it one of the most popular animated series of all time.
