The Birth of a Dynasty

The Super Bowl Victories

The Cowboys' success culminated in three Super Bowl victories in the span of four years. In 1993, they defeated the Buffalo Bills in a thrilling 27-17 game. The following year, they repeated as champions, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-21. And in 1996, they completed their dynasty with a 27-17 victory over the New England Patriots.

Super Bowl XXVII

The Cowboys' first Super Bowl victory came in 1993, as they defeated the Bills in a game that is remembered for its dramatic finish. With just seconds remaining, Aikman threw a game-winning touchdown pass to Alvin Harper, giving the Cowboys a 27-17 win.

Super Bowl XXVIII

The Cowboys repeated as champions the following year, beating the Steelers in a game that was dominated by the Dallas defense. Aikman and the Cowboys' offense struggled, but the defense held the Steelers to just 21 points, securing a 35-21 victory.

Super Bowl XXX

The Cowboys' third and final Super Bowl victory of the 1990s came in 1996, as they defeated the Patriots in a rematch of the previous year's NFC Championship Game. Smith rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown, while Aikman threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys' defense also played a key role, sacking Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe six times.
